Day 53- 62: In Canada

Cheating? Maybe, but I am going to combine the last 10 days into one. The reason is because in Canada I did ant have internet, and did not have access to updating a blog during my time away. So, if I sat here a pretended to remember what I did daily, I'd feel like that is more cheating. So, Canada trip in one!
What a beautiful place it is. I can get pretty cliche at times, but it truly feels like and is my home away from home. The woods were fantastic, except for the fact that upon arrival, the bugs were extremely aggressive and angry with us. I think we all got stung by at least one bee and one horse fly a piece. Once we got the fire going it got better. The weather was pretty dang cold for summer, but I forgot that Canada pretty much gets one month of summer, and then it starts to get cold again. I got to see all the kids, and the bigger kids who provided us with beers, and a good time on their dock. I experienced Canada grocery shopping once again and forgot that grocery shipping is like going to buy a small car. I got really good at paddle boarding too. In the early mornings, I would take my fishing pole, the paddle board and sometimes lady and just take off. I caught a few nice sized fish at the top lake too. Overall, the Therriens always show me a good time when I go to Quebec.
On Tuesday, the 13th I caught a bus to Quebec city. The bus ride was nice! I wasn't expecting such comfy and large sized buses for these trips. I got to sleep, and work on some things on my laptop. We arrived in Quebec City around 5 and I needed to go pick up my rental by 6:00 so it was crunch time once again. However without knowing, I decided to travel the very same day that there was a Paul McCartney concert in the Old Quebec. So there I am, smack in the middle of a long line of traffic waiting to get to the terminus. We are at a light, and I see everyone in front of our bus run out of their car. Cops are directing traffic and we have now been at the same light for the third cycle through. I have no idea at this point what is going on, but when everyone in front of our bus ran out of their car, I saw the cops starting to lose control of the crowd. What the hell was going on?! Cell phones clicking in a small side street in the old Quebec and the crowd getting larger and larger by the second. Did I just catch a glimpse of Sir. Paul McCartney? That question has yet to be answered, but I am fairly certain it was the man eating dinner before his big show which occurred only a few blocks from that very restaurant.

My uncle Jean invited me over for dinner, and considering I hadn't eaten all day I didn't hesitate to say yes. The next morning, I went grocery shopping before the arrival of my dear parents and again I bought enough to buy a small car. I cleaned (although there wasn't much to do because my uncle Jean and his partner pretty much took care of it all.)

My parents arrived the next day, and they had their own tales to tell about their flights. But they seemed so happy to be in Quebec. My mother because it's her home but my dad...he seemed to be extremely content and relaxed. I wish I could hear what he is thinking sometimes, but he looked so good. We had a wonderful few days together. I even made it into the lake! I swan across it not once, but twice! I have one heck of a coach though. We made a fire that night and caught up with some neighbors.
Deschambault was awesome. Another great year with lots of surprises. One was the arrival of my brother! My parents were completely caught off guard with that one. Also, the surprise of my cousin Daniel who's wife just had a baby, (and the only boy born to pass on the family name Quimper.) Lastly, the surprise engagement of cousin Isabelle with her lovely David. The night ended with a family tradition for my cousins new guy, and we slept in a tent in the back yard. I was scheduled to take off Monday so Sunday was my last day. I didn't leave without having a taste of the best poutine in town, and then taking a dip in my uncles above ground (freeeezing) pool. Now I'm back with a long list of things to do before that start of school. One being my Kagan trainings. So, I'm off...

Highlight: Quebec of course...and seeing my parents so relaxed and content
