The story behind the cows! I live in a very urban part of Gainesville, which is what makes the story of the cows even more interesting.
So...I live in a pretty populated apartment complex, but behind us are woods. My particular apartment is right by the dirt road right by those woods. Behind those woods is a house owned by a man who has lived there for many many years. (I also think there is a small creek where you can fish somewhere back there but I've never been.) You'd ever know there was this small bit of wilderness in such a populated area. The sad thing is that this man, who has been here longer than anyone in this complex, is getting squeezed out. The apartment I live in now was just woods not too long ago. I'm sure he was not happy to see a major apartment complex pop up right next door. He seems to be fighting for what is left of his land, which I find a little sad, but also really brave.
Well, this man owns a few cows who like to pop up to the fence behind my dirt road to say hello. I can hear them moo from my couch as if they are shouting, "hey!" I always run outside to say hey back. ;)
Today I saw this cutie and snapped a quick pic. Right next to her though was Mr. big horns, and I got a little intimidated. I probably looked funny running from the cows behind a fence. They make my day though.
Highlight: Seeing old friends :)
Low-light: This heat!
