Day 21: Reading Street

Today was rather productive. I started my day with my very last Special Populations Gifted Class. It was nice to go in knowing that I am one step closer to being done with my gifted endorsement. I left there with a smile on my face and headed to a reading training for the new reading series we are adopting in this county. The reading series is called Reading Street, not much different from our old Treasures series. I must admit though, I am a bit nervous about this new reading curriculum, but I think everything will fall into place once I put it into action. It has to! I was happy to see some familiar faces there. Half of my second grade team was there, and 5 other Terwilliger faces. The training itself was long (4 hours), and it didn't help that the lady who trained us was screaming the entire time. I am not even exaggerating when I say, she...was...loud! I am also not kidding when I say she SANG...LOUDLY at the very end. I mean, I heard her in the lobby leaving the training. It was pretty interesting. I can laugh now, but at the time I literally ran out of that place.
This little guy in my picture is a new friend of ours. He lives right in our front yard, and he is pretty cool. You can't really tell by the picture, but he is pretty big. I saw him one day while I was walking. I love to walk around my neighborhood, but walks lately have been too miserable. I still try and get out there though, around sundown. It's too nice not to.

Highlight: Last day of class!
Low-light: Headache after leaving the training...major one.
