Day 27: Feelin Froggy

Today after class I went to a store for teachers called Learning Path. I still blame Meg for dragging me out there. ;) Well, I was there simply to browse. Once I got there, I saw so many cute things, and the ideas just starting going, on their own, no control. I decided that this year, unlike last year, I needed a theme.
My classroom last year was theme-less and pretty color eclectic. The reason is clear. It is because I got hired so late in the summer. I literally got hired 2 days before meet the teacher, and was lucky to get something on my wall before parents showed up. Now I can plan for the year ahead. and decided on frogs. I bought a motivational poster, a calendar and bulletin board cutouts. I'm now keeping my eyes peeled for anything frog; frog pencils, frog erasers, frog folders... I'm going to go frog crazy!
This particular poster I got for a certain little one from last year who shall remain nameless. She gave up all the time saying it was too hard, and I always tried to push her to keep going. I even thought to myself, man, I need some kind of motivational poster to help this little girl. (Children respond well to visuals and maybe when she looked at it, it would have reminded her to keep trying.) I am going to make sure that my students this year have a visual to always do their best. The best thing I can do for them is to inspire, and that's what I plan to do.
Today class was fun. I have a pretty great group of friend in this class, and they make it fun. We went to the Red Onion for lunch, and had some pretty good laughs. Once I got home, Tony had dinner ready for me. I think I have it pretty good. Happy girl.

Highlight: Excitement for the year to come
low-light: Disappointing news... but these words of a wise man, 'it is what it is', keep me looking ahead. Chins up always. <3
