Day 16: A continuation of birthday bash

For the first time ever, I went to Ichetucknee Springs just outside of Gainesville. It was a beautiful experience and although I've floated down many rivers, this one was one of the most beautiful rivers yet. The crystalline Ichetucknee River has to be the clearest rivers I've floated down revealing the true nature we are all enveloping ourselves around. It flows six miles through shaded hammocks and wetlands before it joins the Santa Fe River. The tube float was about two hours, and that was enough to appreciate everything that was surrounding me. I always teach my kids to use their senses when making observations about things, so that's what I did. I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds; I smelled the air; I jumped in to feel the cool, crisp river water; I used my sight to see all around me; and although I probably shouldn't have, I accidentally swallowed a huge gulp of water completing the five sense experience. It was a day with good friends (a continuation of Jessica's birthday weekend) and I will for certain be back soon.

Highlight: The river
