Most people I've been talking to have told me about these books they've picked up for their summer reads. I don't really have a summer book I wanted to read. I guess it only makes sense...you have tons of time, and nothing to do. Now would be the time to catch up on that book you didn't have the chance to finish last month, or start the Harry Potter series since you've been meaning to do for years now. We'll, the Harry Potter idea is still on the table, but I decided to reread books that I had from college. This book is one we did a book study on this past year actually as part of my first year program. I had so much going on, that I didn't really let anything sink in. It was more like, 'crap we have to meet today to discuss the book, I better cram a few important facts in so I have something to say.' Now, I get to sit back and read it, add my ideas to sticky notes and plan to put it into action next year. So my summer read is something that will make me better at my job. Seems reasonable enough. Today, I caught up on laundry, finished an online portfolio for school I've been putting off for a year and got a bit of reading done. All while it thundered, and poured outside. I appreciate days like this. Content.
